Miss Katelyn has been working at Ellie's Academy since 2017, and has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2015! Her favorite children's book is Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss! During her free time, Katelyn enjoys playing instruments and is into art! She said she loves working with children because, "I love the relationship I am able to make with them. I like have strong connections with them so they are able to trust me. They are a job to be around!"
Miss Yolanda began working at Ellie's Academy in 2002, and has nearly 22 years of experience in the field of Early Childcare Education Prior to entering into the field of Early Education, Miss Yolanda obtained her law degree from National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her favorite children's book in Curious George. During her free time she enjoys cooking and teaching her granddaughter to cook. "I love working with the babies," Miss Yolanda states, "I enjoy watching them grow up and develop; it's beautiful to see how they blossom before my eyes. I also always love to see them come back to visit us at the center."
Miss Chaneika began working at Ellie's Academy in 2015, and has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for seven years. Her favorite children's book is Clifford the Big Red Dog. During her free time she loves cooking and spending time with her kids! Miss Chaneika loves working with children because she feels that "everyday they learn something new, especially the Infants."
Miss Connie began working at Ellie's Academy in 2007, and has over 30 years of experience in the field of Early Childcare Education. Her favorite children's book is, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Her hobbies include doing puzzles & word searches, as well as, cooking. "I have been working with children most of my life!," Miss Connie exclaims. "They bring such joy to one's life. Watching them grow, explore, and learn is so special to me. I can be part of their life and shape them to be proud young people. I am so proud to teach them and join them on their journey to learning!"
Miss Barbara began working at Ellie's Academy in 2018, and has more than 10 years of experience in the field of Early Childcare Education. Miss Barbara's two favorite children's books are To Market, To Market, by Anne Miranda, and There's a Wocket in my Pocket, by Dr. Seuss! Some of Miss Barbara's hobbies are reading, bowling and rug hooking. When asked why she loves working with children, Miss Barbara said, "I am responsible for the happiness of so many others beyond myself. I get a chance to witness so many "firsts." I get a chance to see so many smiles. I am a crucial part of their development. I get to be a part of the messy and amazing learning process. And I get a chance to celebrate little things with them! I help them develop socially and academically, while encouraging their personalities."
Miss Gina began working at Ellie's Academy in 2018, and has been working in the field of Early Childcare Education for three years. She recently obtained her B.A. in Early Childhood Education, and is also looking to pursue her Master's. Miss Gina's favorite children's book is The Cookie Store Cat, by Cynthia Rylant, and her favorite hobby is drawing. "I love working with children because of the joy and creativity each child brings to my classroom everyday," says Miss Gina. "I get to see them grow, spark their imagination, and most importantly, I get to grow with them." Miss Gina says that her passion for caring for children flourished in her own home when she cared for her brother, who was handicapped, and that he was one who sparked her love for caring and teaching children."
Miss Jah'Nay began working at Ellie's Academy in 2018, and has been working in the field of Early Childcare Education for four years. She has her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education; Miss Jah'Nay's favorite children's book is The Cat in the Hat. Her hobbies include drawing and paining. "I love working with children because of the learning experiences we as teachers get to share with the students," Miss Jah'Nay says. "...whether it is something as simple as their ABC's or colors, seeing children having sun as they learn makes the day!"
